Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a 501(c)(3) charitable, non-profit organization with operations in over 140 countries. It’s purpose is to help those in need. This is done through donations that we receive and provided through the services of over 150,000 volunteers (the “Vincentians”) in the U.S. alone. Donations help provide direct assistance to the poor in local communities throughout the United States. Vincentians meet face to face with the poor to assess their needs. Some of the needs addressed by Vincentians include: housing and utility assistance; job training and placement; and access to food, clothing, transportation and medical care.
The National Council also makes grants to the local Conferences/Councils through its Domestic Disaster Relief Grants and the Friends of the Poor Grant Programs.
Members of the Society of St.Vincent de Paul (the “Vincentians”) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. We are young and old. Our members come from various backgrounds, but all are blessed with an awareness that our blessings (time, talent or treasure) are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need.
The purpose of this website is to feature businesses that are partners with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul nationally. They offer services and/or products to assist Vincentians in helping others during home visits, thrift store management and administration, and growing revenue and Council and Conference needs.
